Hero Vida Launches VX2 Go and VX2 Plus with Battery Subscription Model at ₹59,490.
Hero Vida VX2 Go vs VX2 Plus: Price, Specs, and Key Differences Explained
Hero MotoCorp’s electric sub-brand, Vida, has launched the VX2 electric scooter, positioning it as its most budget-friendly model yet.
Vida has expanded its electric scooter lineup with the launch of two new models — the VX2 Go and VX2 Plus.
Priced at ₹59,490 (ex-showroom) under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, it aims to lower the entry barrier to EV ownership by separating the cost of the battery from the scooter.
Under this plan, users pay for battery usage at a per-kilometre rate starting from ₹0.96/km, making the scooter more accessible, especially in cost-sensitive markets.
Pricing and Variant Structure:
The VX2 comes in two variants:
VX2 Go: ₹59,490 (with BaaS) / ₹99,490 (without BaaS)
VX2 Plus: ₹64,990 (with BaaS) / ₹1,09,990 (without BaaS)
(all prices ex-showroom)
These pricing options offer flexibility to buyers, allowing them to choose between upfront battery ownership or subscription depending on their usage and budget.
BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) Model:
In this model, customers buy only the scooter and rent the battery separately through a subscription. This significantly lowers the initial purchase price.
Hero Vida VX2 Key Specifications in detail:
Design and Build:
Design-wise, the VX2 retains elements from the earlier Vida Z model, including a LED tail lamp and 12-inch wheels.
However, it adopts a more practical design, with a single-piece stepped seat that enhances comfort for daily use. The brand also claims the VX2’s 12-inch wheels are the widest in its class, offering better stability and grip.
Battery and Range:
There are two battery options:
The VX2 Go features a 2.2 kWh swappable battery offering a claimed range of 92 km (IDC).
The VX2 Plus gets a larger 3.4 kWh battery, extending the range to 142 km per charge.
Both batteries are swappable, and the VX2 Plus supports dual battery slots.
Both variants support fast charging, capable of reaching 80% charge in approximately 60 minutes, which adds convenience for users with high daily travel needs.
Real-world ranges vary by mode — Eco, Ride, and Sport — with the VX2 Plus performing better in all.
Charging:
Charging times differ by variant. The VX2 Go charges fully in 3 hours 53 minutes, while the VX2 Plus takes 5 hours 39 minutes.
Both support fast charging and can reach 80% charge in just 62 minutes and 100% in 120 minutes. Charging is safe and efficient with an IP67-rated battery.
Charging Flexibility:
The VX2 offers three charging methods, catering to home, workplace, or public charging station use. This improves flexibility for users who may not always have a dedicated charging setup at home.
Performance:
The VX2 Go has a top speed of 70 kmph and accelerates from 0 to 40 kmph in 4.2 seconds.
The VX2 Plus is quicker, with an 80 kmph top speed and 3.1-second 0–40 acceleration. The Plus variant also handles slopes better, with an 18° gradeability compared to 15° on the Go.
Technology and Features:
The VX2 Go variant comes with a 4.3-inch LCD display, while the VX2 Plus gets a 4.3-inch TFT screen. Both offer turn-by-turn navigation, smartphone connectivity, real-time ride tracking, and remote immobilisation—a standout feature for security. OTA updates are supported for all control units except the HMI.
The scooters also support Firmware Over-The-Air (FOTA) updates, enabling periodic software upgrades without needing a service center visit.
Positioning as an “Evooter”:
Vida introduces the VX2 as an “Evooter”, combining the performance and sustainability of an EV with the comfort and practicality of a traditional scooter.
This branding emphasizes the hybrid appeal of the model, targeting riders seeking both innovation and everyday usability.
Colors:
The Hero Vida VX2 electric scooter is available in a vibrant range of seven colors, giving riders plenty of choice to match their personality and style.
The color palette includes Nexus Blue, Metallic Grey, Matte White, Autumn Orange, Matte Lime, Pearl Black, and Pearl Red.
Whether you prefer subtle elegance or bold flair, there’s a VX2 color to suit every taste.
Comfort and Storage:
Both scooters have a single-piece stepped seat with a height of 777 mm and seat length of 851 mm.
The VX2 Plus provides more under-seat storage at 33.2 litres, compared to 27.2 litres in the Go.
Both include a front storage compartment (frunk) of around 6.1 litres.
Brakes and Wheels:
The VX2 Plus offers a disc and drum combo with CBS, while the VX2 Go uses drum brakes on both ends.
Both scooters ride on 12-inch alloy wheels, providing stability and grip.
Lighting and Convenience:
Lighting is all-LED on both variants. Neither comes with cruise control. However, both support phone charging and use a mechanical key system for ignition.
Overall, the VX2 Go is ideal for budget-conscious city riders, while the VX2 Plus suits those looking for more power, range, and features.
The Hero Vida VX2 represents a significant push toward affordable and feature-rich electric mobility.
With its competitive pricing, especially under the BaaS model, smart features, and flexible charging and ownership options, the VX2 is likely to appeal to urban commuters looking to switch to electric two-wheelers.
