  • Simmer for 15–20 minutes, stir occasionally. Oil will darken and herbs will get crisp.
  • Let the oil cool naturally. Strain using a muslin cloth or fine sieve, and store in a clean glass bottle in a cool, dry place. Use within 2–3 months.

  • Wash the fresh Bhringraj leaves and grind the leaves into a fine paste.
  • Heat coconut or sesame oil into a heavy-bottomed pan, then add the paste.

  • Heat on low flame for 10-15 minutes until the oil changes color (greenish or brownish), and the herbs look crisp. Avoid burning.

Shikakai Oil:

  • Mix 2 tbsp shikakai powder, 1 tbsp amla powder, and 1½ tsp turmeric in a bowl.
  • In a heavy-bottomed pan, add 1 cup of coconut or sesame oil. Heat the oil on low flame. Once the oil is warm, add the powder mix slowly while stirring.
  • Add 1 tsp fenugreek seeds if you want extra anti-hair fall benefits.
  • Let it cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes until the powders darken slightly and oil becomes aromatic.Do not let the powders burn.
  • Turn off the flame and let the oil cool naturally.
  • Strain using a fine mesh or muslin cloth.

  • Grind or crush the hibiscus flowers and leaves into a coarse paste.
  • Pour 1 cup of coconut oil in a heavy-bottomed pan. Heat the oil on low flame. Add the hibiscus and leaves paste.
  • Let the mixture simmer for 10-15 minutes on low heat.The oil will turn deep red or slightly brownish. Stir occasionally. Do not overheat or burn the herbs.
  • Let the oil cool naturally. Strain using a clean cloth .
  • Pour into a clean, dry glass bottle.Store in a cool, dark place. You can use it within 2-3 months.

  • Wash curry leaves thoroughly and let them dry.
  • Leave under a fan or in the shade for a few hours until there is no moisture left. This prevents spluttering in oil.
  • Pour 1 cup coconut oil into a heavy-bottomed pan. Keep the flame low.
  • Tear or crush the curry leaves lightly and add them to the warm oil.
  • Add fenugreek seeds and amla powder (if you want to).
  • Cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes, until the curry leaves become crisp and oil changes to a deep greenish or brownish color.
  • Stir occasionally and avoid burning.
  • Let the oil cool down completely. Strain through a fine sieve or muslin cloth.

Brahmi Oil:

  • Take 2 bowls of fresh Brahmi leaves, rinse and grind into a coarse paste.
  • Pour the coconut oil into a heavy-bottomed pan. Heat the oil on low flame.
  • Add the Brahmi paste and other herbs like fenugreek seeds and some curry leaves to the warm oil.
  • Stir continuously to avoid burning. Keep the flame low and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  • The oil will change color (usually greenish or brownish) and release a herbal aroma.
  • Let the oil cool naturally. Strain using a fine cloth or sieve.
  • Store in a clean glass bottle or airtight container. Keep in a cool, dry place. Use within 2-3 months.

 

 

Onion Oil:

  • Peel and chop the onion into small pieces.
  • Blend the pieces using a mixer and strain the juice using a muslin cloth or fine sieve. You’ll need about 2–3 tablespoons of onion juice.
  • Pour 1 cup of coconut oil into a pan.
  • Add fenugreek seeds and curry leaves (both help reduce dandruff and strengthen roots).
  • Once the oil is slightly warm, add the fresh onion juice (do not add in a boiling oil). 
  • Keep the flame low and stir gently for 5–7 minutes.
  • If using, add 1 tablespoon of castor oil at this stage.
  • Turn off the flame and allow the oil to cool completely. Strain the oil into a clean glass bottle or jar to remove residues.
  • Store in a cool, dry place. It can last up to 2–3 weeks without refrigeration.
